The Fabric Behind OMUA

Every OMUA short begins with the fabric,
and ours is truly special.

We source our GOTS-certified organic stretch jersey from a trusted European textile partner who has been collaborating for years with a small, family-run mill in northern Portugal. This long-standing relationship is personal, transparent, and built on shared values of quality, fairness and sustainability.

The fabric is knitted on modern circular machines, creating a smooth and even texture. Once knitted, the raw material is dyed and finished locally in Portugal, following the strict standards of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). The organic cotton used is grown and spun in Turkey, and by keeping the entire production within Europe, transport distances remain short and the supply chain fully transparent.

The GOTS certification is one of the world’s most rigorous textile standards. It ensures that the cotton is organically grown without toxic chemicals, that fair and safe working conditions are respected throughout the entire chain, and that every step is traceable. From the cotton field to the finished fabric. Choosing GOTS means choosing integrity, both for the planet and for your skin.

Our partners continuously invest in innovative and sustainable technologies. The production site is partly powered by solar energy, and their knitting machines are equipped with Smartex, a digital system that detects even the smallest irregularities in real time. This reduces waste and saves valuable resources, proving that true quality is not only visible, it is responsible.

The result is a soft, elastic, breathable and shape-retaining fabric. One that moves with you and keeps its fit wash after wash. It is the ideal foundation for yoga wear that supports your practice and lasts over time.

Each OMUA piece carries this story of responsible farming, fair local production, regional European sourcing and long-lasting quality. Less mass, more meaning. Clothes that stay — not fast fashion.
